Château des Arras, Cuvée Rhéa 2019

Flag of France

Château des Arras is located in Bordeaux's historic right bank appellation. Starting life as a 15th Century military fort, the Château was purchased by the Rozier family in 1899 and converted to a vineyard. The Château is now run by two sisters, Anne & Marie Rozier, the fourth generation to produce wines here. Cuvée Rhéa 2019 is made from a blend of 60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon taken from 50 year old vines. The grapes were harvested and fermented in stainless steel, and aged so for one year prior to release. Purple red in colour, the wine has a really expressive nose of red fruits, blackcurrant and a hint of liquorice. The palate is concentrated, smooth and velvety; with well-integrated tannins, displaying more dark fruit flavours. A great wine to pair with red meats or rich sauces.
